# ICE: Matlab For

Given some positive number \(K\), write Matlab code to plot \[ \sum_{k=0}^K \frac1{2^k} \cos{k\pi x} \] on the interval \([-1,1]\). Note that this will mean first choosing some number \(N\) and making a vector \(x=(x_0,x_1,\dots,x_N)\) where \(x_0=-1, x_1=-1+1/N, x_2=-1+2/N,\dots,x_N=1\), and then evaluating the cosine functions over that vector and adding all those terms together.

The midterm exam will take place on Friday,
12 October. As always, you are permitted any paper
notes you find useful, but no electronic devices are
allowed. The test is cumulative, but emphasizes
the material covered in the last fours weeks.

You need to install
Matlab
on your computer by Wednesday.
You do not need Simulink or any particular toolboxes, though
you might find the Symbolic toolbox useful at some time
in the future (not in this class).
