Application Process

Apply through the Graduate School at Washington State University to be considered for graduate study in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Select “General Graduate Applications” and choose the semester you would like to start.

PhD students: there is a higher likelihood of obtaining funding when admitted in fall semester.

MS students: teaching assistantships are prioritized for PhD students. For Fall 2026, MS students may be eligible to receive funding, depending upon the teaching needs of the department.

International students: Review information about admission requirements, visas and fees, and orientation. Planning for a fall semester start is recommended due to visa processing time.
