Travel Support

Department Travel Funds

Financial support for graduate student travel to conferences is available for one conference per year and the amount is dependent upon funding availability. Details and how to apply are shared via email with enrolled graduate students at the beginning of fall semester.

Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath)

As an institutional member of SLMath, the department may nominate two students to attend SLMath summer graduate schools workshops held in California and around the world. Topics vary each year and expenses are paid by SLMath. Details and how to apply are usually shared with graduate students via email in the middle of the fall semester.

WSU GPSA

The WSU Graduate and Professional Student Association offers travel reimbursements for domestic and international travel. Open to all WSU graduate students. GPSA also has additional funding opportunities for graduate students.

Conferences

Frequently professional organizations offer funding to support conference participation by graduate students. If you are interested in attending a conference, review the conference website and/or contact the organizers for details.

For example:

American Mathematical Society (AMS)

Review information on grants for travel to AMS conferences.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)

Offers grants for registration and travel to SIAM conferences.
