We are proud to announce that the Washington State Statistics Poster Competition (K-12) is now accepting submissions!
Students, educators, and families can learn about the competition and make submissions on the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Poster Competition webpage.
Since 2012, Dr. Dean Johnson, Director of the WSU Center for Interdisciplinary Statistical Education and Research, has organized a statistics poster competition designed to promote statistical literacy and data-centered problem solving among K–12 students. Originally developed for elementary school students in Pullman, Washington, the competition was expanded statewide in 2024 to include K–12 students throughout Washington State. The program engages students in data collection, statistical analysis, and communication of quantitative findings while introducing younger students to the role of statistics in scientific inquiry and decision-making.
Poster submissions are due April 1, 2027. We look forward to seeing this year’s submissions!
