Placement chart updated July 2025.

NA: Not a placement option.

NOTE: Stat 212 or Math 105 cannot be used as a prerequisite into Math 106 or Math 201 (pre-calculus or higher). See the math/stats course map. For transfer students, if you would like to be on the calculus track but your only transfer credit is for Stat 212 or Math 105, you must take the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment. See the transfer credit FAQ for details.

1 Students pursuing a STEM degree are strongly encouraged to take the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment: the highest placement in the calculus track using SBAC is Math 103 (Algebra Methods). See the college-level exceptions FAQ for details.

2  Accelerated Math series options combines coursework for two courses into one semester. Learn about requirements and how to request approval.

3  Options for additional support through concurrent enrollment for Math 171 + 110 (at Pullman and Vancouver) and for Math 100 + 103 (at Vancouver and Tri-Cities). Learn about requirements and how to request approval.

4  An AP Calculus BC score of 2 will only allow enrollment into Math 172 if the AB sub-score is a 3 or higher; whereas an AB sub-score of 2 will only allow enrollment into Calculus 1 as Math 140, 171, or 202.
