Congratulations to our faculty, Hong-Ming Yin, on his recent publication, “On a Reaction-Diffusion System Describing Cell Interaction with a Medical Drug,” published in Communications on Pure and Applied Analysis (Volume 25).
This research examines the complex interactions among chemotherapeutic drugs, tumor cells, normal cells, and immune cells through a nonlinear reaction-diffusion model. The study establishes key theoretical results, including the global existence of bounded solutions and an analysis of their long-term behavior.
The findings provide an important mathematical foundation for researchers in the health and medical sciences, supporting the development of optimal chemotherapy dosing strategies and advancing our understanding of cancer treatment dynamics.
