Faculty Publication Spotlight: Xiongzhi Chen

We are proud to celebrate our faculty and the Associate Director of the WSU Data Analytics Program Xiongzhi Chen who recently published a paper in Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics (Vol 78, 2026).

The paper is titled “Uniformly consistent proportion estimation for composite hypotheses via integral equations: ‘the case of location-shift families’”. The research in the paper proposes uniformly consistent estimators of the “signal proportion” in high-dimensional multiple hypothesis testing, for data whose distributions are modelled by members of suitable location-shift families, without relying on the definition of p-value or other restrictive assumptions. These estimators can be used to construct adaptive false discovery rate procedures to increase their power in studies such as genetics, genomics, immunology, neuroimaging, drug safety, and psychology.
